MINISTERIAL TRACK

If you have a calling to minister, Covenant Life’s ministerial track is for you! We have Christian Workers, Licensed and Ordained ministers throughout the United States, Africa and even parts of Europe. In addition to Spiritual covering, CLMO offers its members training, help and advice when needed.

CHRISTIAN WORKER

The Christian Worker is someone involved in the beginning steps of ministry, apprenticing under an established ministry to receive direction, guidance and “on the job” training. The Christian Worker is concerned and actively pursuing their development in the areas of personal character, Bible school training and ministry.

How to apply for Christian Workers papers:

  • Candidate shall make written application.
  • Candidate shall make himself/herself available for a personal interview. In case of distance, a phone interview can be conducted.

LICENSED MINISTER

The Licensed Minister is regularly involved in ministry, either on a part-time or full-time basis.

Evidence of such a ministry may include:

  • Regular invitation as speaker/singer/musician.
  • Staff pastor of a church or ministry.
  • Regular ministry in prisons, Bible schools, Bible studies, hospitals, nursing homes, etc.
  • Leadership roles in women’s/men’s/youth/music/children’s ministries that would require a need for license.

Basic requirements for Licensed Minister:

  • Salvation experience and subsequent walk with God.
  • Agreement with our Statement of Faith.
  • Call of God defined.
  • Two years of Bible School training or equivalent in ministerial experience.
  • Active involvement at the local church level.
  • Pastoral approval and recommendation.

How to apply for Ministerial License:

  • Candidate shall make written application showing valid need for license.
  • Candidate shall have Christian Workers Papers for a period of one year or more before application will be considered, unless circumstances clearly indicate that licensing is required for the individual to function in the area of ministry he/she is called or currently serving.
  • Candidate shall make himself/herself available for an oral interview. In case of distance, a phone interview can be conducted.

ORDAINED MINISTER

The Ordained Minister is regularly involved in ministry, either on a part-time or full-time basis. Ordination is given based upon call and need.

Examples of those considered for ordination include, but are not limited to:

  • Senior Pastors; staff minister where necessary to comply with state regulations and liability requirements.
  • Ministers with overseas ministries where ordination is necessary to fulfill obligations and requirements of foreign governments.

How to apply for Ordination:

  • Candidate shall make written application showing valid need for ordination.
  • Candidate shall have Ministerial License for a period of two years or more before application will be considered, unless circumstances clearly indicate that ordination is required for the individual to function in the area of ministry he/she is called or is currently serving.
  • Candidate shall make himself/herself available for an oral interview. In the case of long distance, a phone interview can be conducted.

Please note: Through Licensing and Ordination, CLMO confers upon the licensed or ordained minister the authority to conduct baptisms, burials, weddings and other forms of religious worship and sacramental functions in accordance with the tenets of the Church so long as he/she is in fellowship with CLMO, while maintaining a godly life and scriptural standard of teaching.

Requirements for CLMO membership

  • A commitment to your home church.
  • To demonstrate support in your covenant relationship and participate in continuing education by attending at least one CLMO event/conference during the year.
  • To pray regularly for our leaders and those with whom you are in covenant.
  • To remain in integrity in all you do.
  • Personal conduct should be in the light of the Holy Spirit and open to examination by CLMO board members. The person who doesn’t believe in accountability will soon have no account or ability to survive.
  • Be committed to the vision: II Tim. 1:14(NKJV) “That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Ghost who dwells in us.”
  • Do all in the name of Jesus: Philippians 3:7(KJV) “What things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.”
  • Our personal dedication to our vision and ministry is to do all for the Kingdom of God by ministering in excellence to help raise the standard and be a blessing to CLMO.
  • Dues are required yearly and are to be paid by April 15th. Membership card will be sent upon receipt of dues.
